Irvin V. Pedersen, 75, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, April 29, 2004 at USA Health Care.
The Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2004 at the Christ Lutheran Church with the Pastor James Zuehls officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary Ann Lewis Pedersen, sister in law, Carla Pedersen and family; brothers, Darwin (Evelyn) Pedersen; Myles (Shirley) Pedersen; Gene (Karen) Pedersen and their families. The total of nieces and nephews representing 3 generations is 27. The Lewis relatives surviving are Dr. David (Judy) Lewis; Dr. John Lewis; Ruth (Dr. Norman) Michaud; Dr. Martha (Dr. Guy) Rosenberg; Rachel (Lonnie) Nickelson. Their families number 21 over 2 generations.
Irvin V. Pedersen was born to Andrew and Essie (Gregersen) Pedersen on February 2, 1929 in rural Humboldt Co. near Ottosen. He attended Weaver #5 country school and graduated from Gilmore City High School in 1947.
Irvin served his country in the United States Army as a Supply Sergeant stationed in Germany from 1951-53.
Following his military duty, he attended and graduated from Tobin Business College. He then began more than 30 years of employment in the Webster Co. Motor Vehicle Dept. retiring in 1991.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the American Legion, Golden K Kiwanis, numerous Masonic organizations, the latter as member and officer. And he was a surrogate grandfather to numerous children whose ages range from 2 yrs. to 48 yrs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gerald, and a brother in law, Dr. John Craft.
Memorials may be directed to the Masonic Temple or Christ Lutheran Church.
