Howard Madson, 85, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday July 13, 2007 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday July 13, 2007 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with the Rev. Steve Peters officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Howard was born June 27, 1921 to Charles and Pearl Madson in Slifer, Iowa. He graduated from Otho High School in the class of 1939.

Seeking a warmer climate Howard moved to California, where on November 5, 1942 he was inducted into the United States Army Air Force. Howard attained the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge on November 9, 1945. Following his service to his country Howard began a career with the Boeing Aircraft Company. After his retirement Howard lived in the following states; California, Arizona and Nevada. In 1990 Howard returned to the family farm near Fort Dodge to help take care of his elderly mother. Howard was intelligent, generous to a fault, and stubborn man. He enjoyed being current with events and loved a good discussion.

Howard is survived by two daughters, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three nieces.

Mr. Madson was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, two sons; Thomas and James.
