Howard A Olson

Funeral Services for Howard A. Olson 83 of Fort Dodge will be Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be one half hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Gowrie Cemetery. He died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the Fort Dodge Health and Rehab Center.

Howard Arthur Olson was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on July 9, 1933 to Herbert and Ruth (Askleaf) Olson. He was baptized at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gowrie, Ia. At an early age, he moved with his parents to Tacoma, Washington. As a young man, Howard moved back to Fort Dodge. Howard worked at Iowa Central Industries for many years. Howard was one of those special people that once you met him you would never forget him. Howard could recite all the state capitols and loved the Lord's Prayer.  He enjoyed playing bingo, adult coloring and singing “You Are My Sunshine”.

He is survived by his best friend, Jason Bratland.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
