Helen I. Kruse

Helen I. Kruse 88, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Fort Dodge Health and Rehab. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South, with Pastor Carmen Reinertson officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Helen was born November 16, 1931, in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1951. In August of 1965, she was united in marriage to Dennis “Denny” Kruse. She worked at Lutheran Hospital (laundry department) and Hawkeye Glove Factory where she sewed leather gloves and slippers. Helen enjoyed traveling – especially cruising with her daughter and grandson. She also enjoyed summer vacations in Okoboji and supporting/cheering on Becky in her many dart tournaments. Helen was know as “Little Indian” around town.

Helen is survived by her grandson: Kristopher L. Fye of Fort Dodge; her sister: Jackie Surles of Fort Dodge; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2012; and her daughter: Rebecca “Becky” Fye in 2005.
