Services for Helen L. Hogan 77 of Rolfe, Iowa will be Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday 9:00 a.m. until 6:00pm and continue on Wednesday prior to services. Burial will be in Lanesboro Cemetery, Lake City.
Helen Louise Hogan was born July 9, 1936 in Willshire, Ohio to Roy and Rosa (Garwood) Brodbeck. She grew up in Willshire, and attended schools there. She was united in marriage to Clarence Hogan on October 24, 1960 in Wahoo, Nebraska. The family lived in Fort Dodge for several years and then various other communities. For the past 5 years she has lived in Rolfe, Iowa. Helen loved to play bingo, play word searches and crossword puzzles. She especially loved to spend time with her family. On November 24, 2013, Helen died at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.
She is survived by her children; Delmer Hogan of Ohio, Connie Boley-Painter of Florida, Raymond Young of Indiana, Rose Boley of Ohio, Charlotte Wood of Fort Dodge, Roy Hogan of Rolfe, and Patricia Jenkins of Rolfe. Step children; Herky Hogan, Mary Hogan, Janie Anderson, and Esther Hogan, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings; Dorothy Mount, Darrel Brodbeck, and Earl Brodbeck Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gerald, step children; Frances Hogan and Dale Hogan, brothers, Clarence Brodbeck and Russell Brodbeck.
