Helen Bloomquist

Helen Irene Bloomquist, 87, of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with the Rev. Stephen Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Helen was born December 6, 1917 the daughter of Herman and Ellen (Peterson) Wendt in Manson, IA. She married Lawrence Bloomquist on May 31, 1957 in Blue Earth, MN. Helen retired from the Globe Union in 1977.

Lawrence and Helen enjoyed their travels across the country. They loved going camping with friends and family. Helen spent numerous hours knitting and crocheting. She was a former member of the Good Sam Camping Club, the Holiday Rambler Camping Club and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Those thankful for having shared in Helen’s life include her husband; Lawrence of Fort Dodge, son ; Robert Miller of Riverton, RI, stepson; Mervin (Verla) Bloomquist of Fort Dodge, stepdaughter; Marlys McFarland of Cloquet, MN, two grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and fourteen step-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bloomquist was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Bob and Lloyd Wendt, one infant sister; Marie and one step-grandson Jeff.
