Harold E. “Skip” Brown, 70, formerly of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the Fontanelle Good Samaritan Health Center, Fontanelle, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1856. Visitation will be held from 4until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Harold was born May 28, 1934 the son of Harold E. and Nadine (Echelberger) Brown in Fort Dodge. He graduated with the Fort Dodge Senior High School class of 1952. Later in that same year Skip was united in marriage to Shirley Simpson. In 1956 he was remarried to Arlene Krantz, and in 1983 was united in marriage to Leona Darling who died a short year later.

Harold honorably served his country in the United States Army.

Harold enjoyed golfing, listening to country music, watching the Chicago Cubs, and relaxing while watching the races. He also spent many hours enjoying his large garden and working in the yard before moving to town. Harold looked forward to going and seeing his son’s band perform.

Those thankful for having shared in Skip’s life include his children, Bruce (Rhonda) Brown of Bridgewater, IA, Kevin Brown of CA, Angela Brown of Fresno, CA, and Paula (Randy) Jameson of Bridgewater, IA, two brothers, John and Bill Brown of Fort Dodge, one sister, Lynda (Joe) Rupp of Hotsprings Village, Arkansas, one sister in law Kay Brown of Fort Dodge, 4 grandchildren, Erin and Bethany Thompson, and Luther and Logan Brown, and one great granddaughter Shayla Reed.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, 3 wives, one daughter, Rachel Brown, and one brother Dennis Brown.
