Gordon L. Demery

Gordon L. Demery, 69, of Duncombe, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 8 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Phil Somsen officiating.  Interment will follow in the Washington Township Cemetery, Duncombe.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 7 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gordon was born February 17, 1937 the son of Harry and Mable (Lee) Demery in Fort Dodge, IA.  He later graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School.  On July 24, 1954 Gordon was united in marriage to Beverly Steburg in Rockwell City, IA. 

Gordon loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, or just watching the wildlife as he relaxed.  He looked forward to family gatherings especially during the holidays and being involved with as many of the grandchildrens activities as he could.  He was an avid reader, card player, and enjoyed playing the lottery, and making trips to the casino. 

Those thankful for having shared in Gordons life include his wife; Beverly, two sons; Gordon Jr. (Jackie) Demery of Wesley, IA, Kevin (Gina) Demery of Fort Dodge, IA, four daughters; Roxane (Darwin) Bierman of Creston, IA, Cindy (Merl) Meier of Fort Dodge, IA, Frances Demery and Crystal Diehl both of Crystal Lake, IA, three sisters; Patty (Fred) Kuban of Payson, AZ, Mertle Heun, and Nadine (Bob) Schmidt all of Phoenix, AZ, one brother; Colin (Phyllis) Demery of Phoenix, AZ, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mr. Demery was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers; Harry Jr., Robert, James, John, Edgar, Danny Dean, three sisters; Helen, Mary, Hattie Ann, and one son in law; Craig Diehl.
