Goldie M. Cummins, 98, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 6 at the First Assembly of God with Rev. Michael Hastie officiating. Interment will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery, Lehigh. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Goldie was born November 19, 1907 the daughter of J. Jones and Lucy Stapes in Redfield, Iowa. On October 24, 1925 she was united in marriage to Ivyl Dean Cummins and to this union five children were born.

Goldie spent her life working from home and raising her children. She cherished every moment that she was able to spend with her grandchildren. In addition to her duties as a mother and grandmother, she devoted 13 of her years assisting the needy as a Foster Grandparent at the Boys Ranch, Iowa Central Industries and Holy Rosary Church. In her free time she liked to play cards, especially King on the Corner, and enjoyed patching clothes. On Sundays you could always find Goldie in the kitchen cooking for all who came through the house.

Those thankful for having shared in Goldies life include her children; Wilbur (Connie) Cummins of Lehigh, Lovell (Darlene) Cummins of Lehigh, Harold (Betty) Cummins of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Vicky (Don) Rockefellow of Fort Dodge, sisters; Vera Kindred of Creston and Mildred Vodenik of Perry. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren and cousins.

Goldie is preceded in death by her husband Ivyl, her parents, daughter Virginia Post, brothers; Orville Jones, Autie Jones, Marlin Jones, Virgil Jones, sisters; Loretta Hartman, Dorothy Borst, Bethel Sayles, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
