Glenn L. Osborne Sr., 87, of Lehigh, IA and formerly of Otho, IA, died Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Marian Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South – Fort Dodge, with Rev. John Elkin officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Historic Bruce Funeral Home. A private family inurnment will take place at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Glenn was born February 1, 1935, in Fort Dodge, the son of Clifford E. and Laura Mae (Coan) Osborne. He attended school in Fort Dodge. On March 2, 1953, he was united in marriage to Carole June Garrett in Dakota City, IA. Over the years, he worked for DX Gas, Georgia Pacific, Iowa Beef, Pinkerton Guard Duty (ICCC), and Trinity Regional Medical Center (Environmental Services) until his retirement in 2005. Glenn enjoyed spending time with his family - especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed reading, watching Westerns, gardening, fishing, watching football, going for drives, listening to music, taking care of his dog: Nala, playing cards - especially Poker, and BINGO at the Marian Home. He had a love for food and sweets in-particular (black licorice & salt water taffy). He would often bake pies and cookies with his wife. Glenn was a funny guy with a great sense of humor. He had a nickname for everyone. Glenn always smelled good because of his "foo foo juice". He will be deeply missed.
Glenn is survived by 4 children: Rose Richardson and husband Jim of Lehigh, Glenn Osborne Jr. and wife Linda of Grand River, IA, Barry Osborne of Burnside, IA, and Charles Osborne of Grand River; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a sister: Charlotte Blankenhagen of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2009; daughter: Debra McFarland; infant daughter: Sharon; and 12 siblings: Edna, Velma, Ramona, Leona, Irma, Robert, Richard, Thomas, Ronald, Sandra, Donna and Clifford.
