George Clifford Drown

George Clifford Drown was born May 21, 1929 in Curlew, Iowa to George Briggs and Johanna Thoma (Gommels) Drown. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High. George served in the United States Army Air Corp from 1946 to 1949.

On March 31, 1950 he was united in marriage to Mary Katheryn Ertl in Fort Dodge. The couple resided in Fort Dodge where George was an auto mechanic and worked for the area automobile dealerships. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, watching car races and sports on television.

On September 3, 2016 George died at the Trinity Regional Medical Center at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 12 days. He is survived by his wife Mary Drown of Fort Dodge, son Richard (Carmen) Drown of Wichita, KS and two granddaughters Deborah and Renee.

George was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Eunice Short, and Mary Catherine Neleigh and an infant son George Jr.

As per George's wishes there will be no services. His cremated remains will be interred at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Historic Bruce Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to www.brucesfuneralhome.com
