Celebration of Life Service for Frank D Douglas 64 of Fort Dodge will be held next spring. He died in the loving arms of his wife Shelly, on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Paul J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.
Frank Duane Douglas Jr. was born August 20, 1951 in Macomb, Illinois to Frank and Jean (Hickman) Douglas Sr. He grew up in Macomb and graduated from Macomb Public Schools. He moved to Fort Dodge in 1988. Frank was united in marriage to Shelly Briggs-Hurley on August 22, 1995 in Wall, South Dakota. The couple made their residence in Fort Dodge where Frank drove cab for many years and also was a Route person for the Des Moines Register. He enjoyed playing board games, especially Scrabble, reading. He was also a big Beatles fan. Frank had a quick wit always telling a joke or two. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul who always helped everyone.
He is survived by his wife Shelly of Fort Dodge two children; Brian and Amy, one sister Chris Poff of Chicago, IL and will be loved and missed by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
