Frances Cole

Funeral Services for Frances M. Cole 99 of Fort Dodge will be Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. She died Friday, October 23, 2015 at Friendship Haven.

Frances M. Cole, daughter of Francis and Sarah Anderson was born January 20, 1916 in Coalville, Iowa. She attended school in Coalville and graduated from Otho High School in 1934. After Attending Tobin Business College she was employed at Fort Dodge Grocery for 17 years. She was then bookkeeper for Standard All Round Truck Station for 20 years. She married Newell Fawkew in 1940 and he passed away in 1987. In 1993 she married Orville “Bud” Cole. They made their home in California and moved back to Fort Dodge in 2000. They moved to Friendship Haven in 2003.

Frances is survived by her husband Bud Cole of Fort Dodge, stepchildren; John (Nancy) Cole of Plainwell, Michigan, Ronald (Pat) Cole of Central Point, Oregon, and Gail Berg of San Diego, CA, niece, Kay (Terry) Bretthauer of Urbandale, nephews; Stephen (Julie) Anderson of Independence, MO, Charles (Darlene) Jones of Sioux Falls, SD, and Robert (Mary) Jones of Fort Dodge.

She was a life long member of the Community of Christ Church (formerly Re-Organized Church of Latter Day Saints)

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Vera (Jake) Jones, and brothers; Amos (Anne) Anderson and Elvin Anderson.
