Evelyn Mae Klaver

Evelyn Mae Klaver of Ellsworth, Iowa passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 30, 2009.  She was 75 years old. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Lillian Greenfield of Kamrar, her infant brother Gail, her infant daughter Darlene Kay, and her younger sister Jane Herbst of Clarion.  Evelyn is survived by her husband Darrell Keith Klaver, their three sons Steven Darrell (Sarina), Dennis Duane (Gina) and Glen John (Carolyn), four grandchildren Elisa, Jillian, Adam, Kirsten, and three brothers John (Judy), Stuart (Renee), Gene (Debbie) and numerous nieces and nephews. The eldest of five children, Evelyn was born near Kamrar, Iowa on May 23rd, 1933. Growing up on the farm she spent many hours on the tractor helping her Dad in the fields. There was no farm machinery or implement she was afraid to operate.  Evelyn graduated from Kamrar High School in 1950 and then worked as a secretary at the same school from 1950-1954.  Evelyn and Darrell married on October 5, 1951 while Darrell was home on a 10- day leave from the army. Their life together has been an inspiring love story for all who knew them.  After Darrell returned from military service in Japan, he and Evelyn began farming together and continued to do so the majority of their married life (57 years). Evelyn was an active member of Community Church of Kamrar and for many years enjoyed church activities, family, friends, flower and vegetable gardening, camping, listening to Darrell play both piano and organ, photography, and traveling around the country visiting their kids and grandkids. We give God all the glory for a very full, happy and blessed life. Funeral services are planned for 10:30 am, Tuesday, May 5 at the Community Church of Kamrar, 2351 280th St., Kamrar, Iowa 50132.  Visitation will take place at the church on Monday, May 4 from 5 – 8 p.m.  Flowers, cards and other expressions of love can be sent directly to the church. Bruce-Graham Funeral Home, Fort Dodge is in charge of arrangements.
