Eva A. Arndt, 89, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Friday, April 2, 2021, at Accura HealthCare of Pomeroy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home, 923 1st Avenue South – Fort Dodge, with Brian Danner, Chaplain of Kindred Hospice officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh, IA. Services will also be live streamed via our Historic Bruce Funeral Home Facebook page. Eva was born December 19, 1931, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Bennie Frederick and Effie Marie (Richardson) Benson. She attended Fort Dodge Senior High. In 1949, she married Harold K. Krause at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. The couple later divorced. In 1979, she married Lester Arndt in Minnesota. The couple later divorced. Eva worked at Bob's Grocery (15+ years) before becoming employed at Trinity Regional Hospital (housekeeping) for 30 years. She retired in 1996. Eva enjoyed looking through cookbooks and cooking for others. She also enjoyed shopping, garage sales, chocolate (she was known for eating her dessert first), watching HGTV & the Food Network, attending dances in Otho in her younger years, and getting “out and about”.
Eva is survived by a son: Craig Krause of Spirit Lake, IA; 4 grandchildren: Michelle Krause, Jason Krause, Kelly Jaeschke and Christopher Krause; and her great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her special friends: Pam Hinton of Fort Dodge, Sandy McFarland of Fort Dodge, and Roni & Rich Engeldinger of Manson, IA and their daughter: Miranda Engeldinger of Waukee, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 sisters: Norma Hokinson and Betty Kuhn.
