Ella M. McMahon

Ella M. McMahon, 88, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday November 3, 2012 at the Tompkins Memorial Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in North Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ella was born December 9, 1923 the daughter of William and Lydia (Genrich) Wetzel in Lotts Creek, Iowa.  On December 31, 1943 Ella was united in marriage to Omar McMahon at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  Omar and Ella owned and operated the Dixie Cream Donut for many years working hand in hand at one of their passions. 

Ella was a game enthusiast, always willing to play cards, solitaire, or even just relax and work on a word puzzle.  She looked forward to family visits and was always anxious to see her grandchildren.  Over the years just going somewhere was a joy, whether just for a ride around the country taking in the different seasons or going on vacation. 

Those thankful for having shared in Ellas life include her children, Judy Vakoc, Jerry McMahon, Ken (Dawn) McMahon, eleven grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. McMahon was preceded in death by her parents, husband Omar, two sisters, six brothers and one grandson.
