Elizabeth M. Messerly
Elizabeth M. Messerly, 93, of Badger, died, March 15th, 2009 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 18th, 2009 at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home, with the Rev. L.J. Hartley officiating. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born September 10th, 1915 the daughter of David and Elizabeth (Hay) Davis in Fort Dodge. On May 16th, 1934 Elizabeth was united in marriage to Wilford Messerly. To this union six children were born.
Elizabeth and her husband owned and operated the Badger Inn. She also worked as a cook at the Webster County Home for several years. Elizabeth was a member of the Vincent United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Badger 39s, Hospice and the UMW. Elizabeth looked forward to visiting with friends while attending the widows breakfast. She was always ready to go if someone would call. She also enjoyed visiting family and friends
Those thankful for having shared in Elizabeths life include her children, Richard (Darline) Messerly of Fort Dodge, Janet (Robert) Pederson of Badger and Betty (Richard) Lind of Badger, Sister, Lucille (Clarence) Messerly of Badger, Sister in Law, Eileen Dennis of Wheaton, IL,13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilford, Sons, Harold, Jerry and Larry Messerly, Brothers, Eddie, David and Roy Davis, Sisters, Erma Clausen, Anne Heffner, Dorothy Benson and Violet Davis.
