Eldean D. Chase, 82, of Otho, IA, died Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City, IA. A private inurnment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Memorials may be directed to the family. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Eldean was born December 20, 1941, in Sheldon, IA, the daughter of William and Muriel (Milenberg) Gibbs. Eldean was best known for her talent and passion for crafting. She turned that passion into a career when she and her husband started their own business called Make Mine Country. They spent countless hours creating home decor and seasonal decorations that her customers loved.
Eldean is survived by 6 children: Melanie Olson of Eagle Grove, IA, Maria Lehman and husband Rod of Fort Dodge, Julie Cole and husband Ralph of Newton, IA, Meridee Miller of Waterloo, IA, Steve Powell and wife Jill of Duncombe, IA, and Lisa Ruggles and husband Nick of Otho; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 3 siblings: Alana Honeyman and husband David of Omaha, NE, Laurie Haggy and husband Larry of Moorland, IA, and Bill Gibbs and wife Leslie of Fort Dodge. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 2011: James L. Chase; daughter: Dee Hodapp; and grandson: Josh Hodapp.
