Edward F. Derrig Sr., 64, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, January 18, 2021, at Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at First Church of the Nazarene, 1250 N. 24th Street, with Pastor Gary Snook officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Edward was born June 11, 1956, in Fort Dodge, the son of Wilbur F. and Vivian (Mosher) Derrig. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1974. Edward was a hardworking handy man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a caring character who found joy in making others laugh and smile. Edward was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Edward is survived by 5 children: Charles Derrig (Crystal Frank), Jenny Derrig (Robert Walters Jr.), Edward Derrig Jr. “Little Eddie” (Rachel Sievers), Makenzie Derrig and Abigail Derrig – all of Fort Dodge; 4 grandchildren: Jaden, Sydney, Janelle and Lilly; wife: Jamie Robinson of Fort Dodge; sister: Nancy Duckett (Bernie) of Fort Dodge; and brother: Michael Derrig (Samantha) of Texas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers: David and George Derrig.
