Duane Knudson

Services for Duane E. Knudson 80 of Fort Dodge will be Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Badger Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Meier officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday 5pm to 7pm also at the Badger Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery in rural Badger. 

Duane Earl Knudson was born February 11, 1937 in Fort Dodge to Earl and Kathryn (Pingel) Knudson. He grew up on a farm in rural Badger and after his confirmation his family moved to Fort Dodge.

On August 22, 1959, he was united in marriage to Janet M. Vinsand in Fort Dodge at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. The family lived in Fort Dodge, and Humboldt and finally back to Fort Dodge to raise their family of 6 children. Duane worked at various jobs in Fort Dodge and Humboldt, finally retiring with Hawkeye Leisure Trailer in Humboldt. Duane enjoyed camping with family, fishing and tinkering around with various projects. He enjoyed having coffee at Jamar's with his friends, especially Gary Carlson.

On October 22, 2017, Duane passed in his sleep at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet Knudson of Fort Dodge, daughter; Kimberly Warren of Fort Dodge, daughter and son-in-law; Debra (Curtis) Eliason of Kanawha, daughter; Vicky Knudson of Overland Park, KS, son; Rodney Knudson of Fort Dodge, daughter; DeAnn Knudson of Waukee, daughter; Renee Knudson of Fort Dodge, and Duane's grand-children; Keisha Propst, Kaleb Kloberdnaz, Alicia (Alex) Bruggeman, Anthony Knudson, Amber Knudson, Dylan Knudson, and 2 great-grandchildren; Haiden Kloberdnaz and Maci Bruggeman.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Kathryn Knudson.
