Dorothy Ellen Hungate

Memorial Services for Dorothy Ellen Hungate 80 of Evanston will be October 19th at 2:00 p.m at Otho-Kalo Church in Otho, Iowa with the Rev. Greg Bratland Jr. officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Washington Township Cemetery in Ducombe.

Dorothy was born March 17, 1933 in Lake City, Iowa to George and Emma (Williams) Higgins. She was united in marriage to Lyle Hungate on July 10, 1948 in Fort Dodge. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting pictures. She also liked quilting, cooking and baking, and being with family.

On October 4, 2013 she died at the Stratford Nursing and Rehab Center. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Lyle of Stratford, children; Patrick Hungate of Duncombe, Michael (Lori) Hungate of Eagle Grove, and Neil (Janeen) Hungate of Otho, 7 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Betty Carroll of Fort Dodge and 6 step-sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Vernon, Warren, and William, and two step brothers.
