Dorothy E. Bockoven

Dorothy Evelyn Bockoven, 87, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the USA Health Care Center.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Dorothy was born September 12, 1918 the daughter of Luther and Mable Graves in Fort Dodge, IA.  On November 3, 1940 Dorothy was united in marriage to Willard Leroy Bockoven.  To this union four children were born.

Dorothy had a great love for children and for 18 years she shared that love with many as a foster grandparent.  She was also an avid reader and had a passion for the game of Bingo.

Those thankful for having shared in Dorothys life include her children; Judy (Dave) Thompson of Gilmore City, IA, Barbara Oleson, Larry Bockoven, and Brenda (Jerry) Garrett all of Fort Dodge, IA, one sister; Louise Campbell of Fort Dodge, one brother; Rolland “Bud” Graves of Fort Dodge, 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Bockoven was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers; Francis and Harold, and two sisters; Lola, and Della.
