Donald F. McNew, Sr.

Donald F. McNew, Sr., 57, of Fort Dodge, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the North Lawn Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Walter Porsch Post 1856.

Donald was born April 15, 1950 the son of Charles F. and Lois Marie (Teichert) McNew in Boone, Iowa.

Donald enlisted in the United States Navy in December of 1968 and was honorably discharged in September of 1970.

On February 17, 1990 Donald was united in marriage to Rhonda Armstrong at the Full Gospel Lighthouse in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Donald loved working on his computer and watching the birds. He truly enjoyed his time fishing and relaxing in the great outdoors. Donald always had his scanner on and spent a lot of time listening to country music and Christian radio. Don will be greatly missed by his family.

Those thankful for having shared in Don’s life include his wife Rhonda, children; Donald F. (Marla S. Silpe-McNew) McNew, Jr., Denna Kay Anderson, Lyssa Marie (John Louis) Walrod, sisters; Diane Lynn Anderson-Inman, Patricia Marie Worthen, brother; Richard Lee Bennett, ten grandchildren; Amanda Kay French, Koby Brian McNew, Zachary Floyd Young, Nicholas Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Nolan Anderson, Corey Jack Walrod, Danielle M. Smith, Jeffery S. Smith and Victoria R. Smith.

Mr. McNew was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Michelle Ann Marie McNew.
