Dolores Curtis

Dolores Ellen Curtis, 76, of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2004 at the Bruce~Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Officiating will be the Rev. Evelyn Lewiston. Interment will follow in the Gilbert Cemetery, Gilbert, IA. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Dolores was born April 29, 1928 the daughter of Hans S. and Erva Alice (Glasgow) Hansen in Ames, IA. She attended the Ames public school system thru her junior year and then moved to Gilbert, IA where she graduated with the Class of 1948.

On July 26, 1955 Dolores was united in marriage to Elmer LeRoy Curtis in Webster City, IA.

Dolores worked very faithfully for the Kmart Corporation as a clerk for 25 years.

Dolores loved to quilt and do macramé, make dolls and collect them. She was also an avid collector and reader of cookbooks. Dolores enjoyed taking care of her family and always wanted to hang the latest pictures of her grandchildren. In her most recent years Dolores became very attached to her to cats that she loved dearly.

Those thankful for having shared in Dolores’ life include her children; Thomas Curtis of Fort Dodge, Carl (Cindy) Curtis of Fort Dodge, Pauletta Lindner of Odebolt, Alice (Dale) Gwinner of Waukee, and Darla (Bruce) Rentschler of Cedar Rapids, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers.
