Dennis Porter

Funeral Services for Dennis Porter 74 of Fort Dodge will be Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 1:30 at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  He died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.

Dennis Porter was born October 12, 1940 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Harold and Beverly (Wilkinson) Porter.  He graduated from Bradgate High School.  Dennis was  united in marriage to Virginia Espinoza On May 17, 1965 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Dennis was employed at the Fort Dodge Box Factory and then Chantlands in Humboldt for many years.  He retired in 2002.  Dennis enjoyed fishing and playing checkers. 

He is survived by his wife Virginia of Fort Dodge, his children; Joan Carrafa of California, Lori (Jon) Bair of Moorland, Steven G. Porter of Fort Dodge and Anita Poldervaart of Fort Dodge, 11 grandchildren: Aryan, Brandon, Mason, Mike, Jon, Levi, Jacob, Jenny, Michelle, Heidi and Tabitha and nine great grandchildren: Haily, Allysha, Allysa, Paloma, Giana, Lucy  and Gage.  He is also survived by his sister Jerri Buhr of Fort Dodge, 3 nephews, Don, Dave and Mark, and three nieces Vicki, Valerie and Beverly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, one sister Delores and one nephew Jeff.
