Delores F. Hass, 84, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Friday, April 19, 2019, at Select Specialty Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 26, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 400 South 13th Street – Fort Dodge, with Pastor Al Henderson officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the North Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Delores was born December 1, 1934, in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Harry Emil and Olive (Thiede) Schutt. She graduated from Denison High School. Following graduation, Delores became a candy striper. On December 5, 1952, she was united in marriage to William H. Hass at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, IA. During the early years of marriage, the couple moved to different locations while William worked on road construction before settling in Fort Dodge in 1965, at which time Delores began in home child care. Delores enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends. She especially cherished time with her family. Delores was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Delores is survived by two daughters: Kathy (George) Newcomb of Fort Dodge, and Pamela (Gary) Erickson of Panama City Beach, FL; two grandchildren: Kari (Matt) Schmidt and Jeremy (Barb) Newcomb; five great grandchildren: Kylee, Rowan, Sydney, Kennedy and Alex; sister: Beverly Gedden; and brother-in-law: Robert (Phyllis) Hass.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband in 2011; and a daughter: Joleen Hass.
