Delores E Folsom

Delores E. Folsom affectionately known as “Nanny” or “Dee” was born at home in Fort Dodge, Iowa on October 16, 1935 to Floyd and Elsie (Grunwald) Grimes. She grew up in the Pleasant Valley area attending Fort Dodge Schools.

Delores was united in marriage to Orland B. Pedersen on April 18, 1951. They later divorced. Delores was united in marriage to Robert Folsom on October 19, 1974. The couple lived in the Rockwell City area, then retired to Fort Dodge. Delores worked as a Nursing Assistant and also as a cook in the school system for several years. Nanny and her husband enjoyed many years of traveling. Her house keeping was impeccable and with her love of reading, she always had a book with her. She enjoyed going to antique stores and collecting antique glassware. She loved spending time with her family and her pet cats. The past few years she spent in her apartment, with her new found friends and coffee group, were very important to her. Nanny gave much joy to people that knew her.

Delores E. Folsom passed away at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge, IA on March 9, 2017. She is survived by her children; Darrell (Karen) Pedersen and Christine Ellis and grandchildren; Susan Jones, Jessica Weis, Kathyrn Pedersen, Lisa Stamper and Joanna Pedersen and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by 5 step children, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, and her sister Lucille (Lucy) Bagley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, children; Susan, Timothy and Steven and brothers Floyd Jr. (Sonny) Grimes and David Grimes and son-in-law Dean Ellis.

Family graveside services will be held at a later date.
