Delbert Jones

A Celebration of Life and gathering for family and friends of  Delbert Jones 57 of Otho will be January 10, 2015 from 3pm to 7pm at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  He died suddenly on Saturday December 13, 2014 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Delbert Earl Jones was born July 3, 1957 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Leonard and Edna (Bates) Jones.  He grew up in Fort Dodge and graduated from Fort Dodge High School.  Delbert worked several jobs throughout his life time including being a cook at the Village Inn, driving truck for Keime Trucking and most recently driving truck for Fort Dodge Asphalt.  Delbert was an avid bowler; he bowled in several leagues and was a member of the United States Bowling Congress.  Photography was another favorite hobby, as he had many of his photos published.  He took wedding pictures for many area families. He enjoyed hunting with his friends as they had the guns and Delbert had his camera. He also enjoyed going to car races and fishing.  He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Delbert continued his giving nature even after death as he was a donor to the Iowa Tissue Network.

He is survived by his sister Linda (Kenneth) Chase of West Des Moines, two nephews, Kenneth (Renee) Chase Jr.  and Lance (Stephanie) Chase, one niece, Kimberly (Andrew) Chase-Hogue, four great nieces and nephews, and many many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
