Darla Laird, 57, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Darla is survived by her son, Todd (Billy) Laird, daughter, Krista Laird and one grandson, Hunter Laird.

Mrs. Laird was preceded in death by her Father, Roger Lawson, Mother, Margaret Lawson and a Brother, Darrold Lawson.

Darla was born December 15, 1954 to Roger and Margaret (Sauer) Lawson in Fort Dodge, IA. She later worked to receive her GED. Darla was later united in marriage to John Laird. The couple divorced after 27 years. Darla has been employed at Trinity Regional Medical Center for the past 35 years.

Darla loved spending time with her children and with her little charge Slade Babb. She also enjoyed playing dish games and all summertime activities. Darla also loved to watch NFL football and her favorite player Tom Brady. She also enjoyed her visits with Brad Babb and numerous others who would stop to see her.
