Daniel O Gonzalez, 92, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his home. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Historic Bruce Funeral Home of Fort Dodge.
Daniel was born January 3, 1932, in Mexico City, Mexico, the son of Aurelio and Rafaela (Ordaz) Gonzalez. He graduated from Mexico City High School in 1950. After completing his 2 years of military service he continued his education at IPN in Mexico and the University of Houston in Texas. In 1958, he was united in marriage to Juana Vargas and to this union 6 children were born. The couple later divorced. In 1982, he married Rose Overmeyer and to this union 2 children were born. The couple later divorced. In 1998, he married Marianne Lang. The couple later divorced but remained close friends. Throughout his life he worked as a CPA for various companies including Price Water House Coopers and Bechtel Corporation. He enjoyed swimming, skiing, golfing, and traveling. His sense of adventure extended to leisurely drives that brought him peace. Daniel was known for his love of tinkering. In addition to his hobbies, Daniel dedicated himself to work. His strong work ethic was evident to all who knew him.
Daniel is survived by 8 children: Juanita Gonzalez and husband Juan Carlos, Daniel Gonzalez, Pablo Gonzalez and wife Kathryn, Guadalupe Gonzalez and husband Antonio Monroy, Gabriela Gonzalez and husband Guillermo, Rosario Gonzalez, Danielle Gonzalez and Theresa Gonzalez; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and his companion: Marianne Lang. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Ruth Mancera and Auria Gonzalez; and his dog: “Sparkle”.
