Coletta Jean Gross, 76, of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church, Fort Dodge. Officiating will be the Rev. Evelyn Lewiston. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Bruce~Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Coletta was born July 18, 1927 the daughter of Lyndon and Mabel (Golly) Losee in Marble Rock, IA. On October 6, 1945 Coletta was united in marriage to Bernard Gross in the Methodist parsonage in Mason City, IA. The couple later moved to Fort Dodge in 1950.

Coletta was a very family oriented person and spoke very highly of each of her children. She was very proud of all their accomplishments. She instilled good values and was an inspiration to her family. Coletta was a former girl scout leader and volunteered many hours for numerous projects. She loved to spend time sewing, crocheting, knitting, and playing bingo. Coletta was a great cook who enjoyed baking and making all sorts of Christmas candies. Coletta was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the First United Methodist Church.

Those thankful for having shared in Coletta’s life include her husband Bernard, two sons, Wesley Gross of Lorain, OH, Neil (Frankie) Gross of Sioux City, IA, two daughters, Juanita (Roland) Johnson of Fort Dodge, Teresa Winkelman and partner Sandy Thompson of Mattawan, Mich., three brothers, Jewell Losee, Erwin (Mag) Losee, and Joseph (Sandy) Losee, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and two special friends, Carol Lynn Burnett and Lois Polking.

Mrs. Gross was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Richard Losee, and one grandson Brian Gross.
