Charlotte Follett
Charlotte Ann Gilday Follett, 86, of Webster City, died Tuesday February 1, 2005 at her residence.
Services will be held at a later date according to Charlotte’s wishes.
Charlotte was born December 15, 1918 the daughter of Walter C. and Carolyn Hazel (Earl) Gilday in Fort Dodge, IA. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in the class of 1937.
On July 2, 1939 Charlotte was united in marriage to James Louis Follett at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Webster City. Following the couple’s wedding they made there home in Webster City. To this union two sons were born.
Charlotte was an avid reader of history who enjoyed spending hours reading to children. As a young lady Charlotte was a great bicycle enthusiast, loved trivia and looked forward to charting the weather on a daily basis. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother who enjoyed nature, going dancing, playing cards, and taking care of her plants.
Charlotte’s working career included Morton’s, Montgomery Wards, Places, Dunn’s as the Ice Cream maker, and McMurray Hatchery.
Those thankful for having shared in Charlotte’s life include her husband James L. Follett Sr., two sons; James Follett Jr. of Webster City, Donald George Follett of Ark., one sister Susan Casey of MN, two grandchildren; Darcey Follett of Webster City, Jason Follett of Little Rock, Ark, three great grandchildren; Kasie, Kaitlyn, Tyler, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Follett was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters; Phyllis, Vivian, Carolyn, and Patricia, and four brothers; Walter Jr., Earl, Lee, and David.
