Charles “Jim” Vernon Fuller, 72, died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at his residence.

A private funeral service will be held 10:30a.m. Monday, October 4, 2004 at Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the Otho Cemetery.

Charles was born at the home of his parents in Kalo, Iowa on October 1, 1932. Charles was the second son born to Clayton J. and Alice Ruth (Chelgren) Fuller. Jimmy or Jim was the nickname his grandmother Jennie Fuller gave him. Charles completed his education at the Otho High School, graduating in 1950. He served his country in the U.S. Army, United Company I. He retired from the Army in 1954 receiving many citations. In July of 2000 he received a Commerative Pin from the Korean Government, given to veterans who served in Korea.

On November 6, 1955, Charles and Verona Jaeschke were united in marriage at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Farnhamville, Iowa.

Charles was employed with Kalo Brick and Tile, Fareway Grocery Store, Horn Brothers Manufacturing, Johnson Clay Works, R.R. Express and for 35 years he was at Fort Dodge Fire Department. He retired from the fire department in September of 1993 as Assistant Fire Chief. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and American Legion, Post 130. Charles was a devoted husband and father with a great sense of humor.

Charles is survived by his wife Verona of 48 years; son, Timothy and his wife Debra of Fort Dodge, IA; 2 daughters, Linda (Randall) Holtan of Las Vagas, Nevada and Janet (Odis) Trammell of Hurst, TX; Three grandsons, Lucas Fuller of Hurst, TX, Connor James and his twin brother Cody Gilman Holton of Los Vegas; 1 sister, Rosemary (Eldon) Johnson of Fort Dodge; brothers, Emerson and his wife Majorie of Florida, Gregory Bernard of Kalo, Iowa; sister-in-law, Roma Fuller of Kalo, and several nieces and nephews and their families. He is also survived by special friends and members of his extended family.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother on July 15, 1981, father on May 5, 1984, siblings, infant brother Roger Glenn on August 13, 1940, Eugene Clayton on September 2, 1977 and Michael Dean on October 10, 1985.
