Charles Butler
Charles Butler, 62, of Mason City, died Sunday May 1, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday May 7, 2005 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Fort Dodge. Interment will follow in the Fort Dodge Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Charles Butler was born January 28, 1943 in Bolivar Lake Benoit, MS. He moved to Fort Dodge in 1968, later moving to Des Moines and then returned to Fort Dodge in 1985. During his stay he became a member of Second Baptist Church were he was involved with the youth group, male chorus, bus driver, and Deacon. He was employed at Long John’s Silvers for 10 years. In 1999 he moved to Mason City were he became a member of Christ Deliverance Apostolic Church with Bishop Andre Wells as his Pastor. Charles was the head Deacon, altar worker, custodian, and part of the outreach ministry in the community. Charles enjoyed cooking, writing poetry, songs, and traveling to church events.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Earnestine Henderson Butler and his father, George Trotter.
Survivors include his children; Tina (Willie) Ellis of Greenville, MS, Charles Butler Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Charles Clayton of Fort Dodge, Kenyatta Webster of Des Moines, Charletta Tidwell of Des Moines, Aaron Ashby and his mother Ethel of Mason City, Sisters; Gertrude (Charles) Madison of Chicago, IL, Hazel Henderson of Fort Dodge, Dorothy Henderson of Detroit, Mich, Peggy Shivers of Fort Dodge, Beatrice Heat of Detroit, Mich, Brenda Henderson of Fort Dodge, Brothers; Sylvester Butler of Detroit, Mich, and Moses (Gloria) Butler of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Charquez, Takayla, Whitney, Anahia, Markasia, Solomon, Malcolm, and Amir. He will be dearly missed by Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and friends.
