Carroll Black

Carroll “Butch” Black, 63, of Fort Dodge died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at the Marian Home in Fort Dodge.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Fort Dodge.  Inurnment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19 from 4-7 p.m. at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Carroll was born on February 9, 1942 in Webster City, Iowa the son of William and Genevieve (Torkelson) Black.  He attended both Humboldt and Fort Dodge High Schools and later served in the Air Force until his honorable discharge.  Mr. Black was the manager of camera and jewelry at Kmart until his retirement in 1997.  Carroll was united in marriage to Betty Kelso on July 11, 1965 in Roland, Iowa.  Before his retirement he enjoyed golfing and the occasional game of bowling.  Carroll also had a fondness for taking pictures and being a member of the Camera Club of Fort Dodge.

Carroll is survived by his wife Betty, children Jeanna Black of Fort Dodge, David (Brigette) Black of Amsbach, Germany, Steven Black of Onawa, Iowa and Bill (Amanda) Black of Fort Dodge.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.

Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carl Black.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
