Carol Walters

Carol Walters, 73, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Unity Point - Trinity Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor John Jahnke of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Carol Jean was born September 3, 1947, in Moorland, IA, the daughter of Arnold and Florence (Jondle) Parks. She graduated from Gowrie High School in 1965. On December 17, 1966, she was united in marriage to Robert P. Walters at the First Christian Church in Fort Dodge. Carol worked at Lutheran Hospital for a short time before starting a family and becoming a homemaker. Carol enjoyed puzzles, sewing, playing games on her phone, casino trips, watching movies and keeping a clean home. She loved Christmas and went all out with decorating the house and Christmas tree. She had a great collection of Angels and waterfall decorations.

Carol is survived by her husband of 54 years: Robert Walters of Fort Dodge; 4 children: Robert Walters Jr. and fiancee Jenny Derrig of Fort Dodge, Shelly Evans and husband Sean of Fort Dodge, Melinda Stewart and husband Sean of Dayton, IA and Jason Walters and wife Dawn of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren: Jaden, Sydney, Janelle, Lilly, Shelby, Chad, Timothy, Jocelyn, Caden and Jaid; sister: Delores Garrett; and 3 brothers-in-law: Eddie Walters and wife Pat, Michael Walters and Matthew Walters. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 8 siblings: Mary Anges Beck, Marjie Irwin and husband Bob, Shirley McLuckie, Dorothy Kaplan, Florence Jaeschke, Thomas Parks, Pauline (Parks) Swanson, and James Joseph Parks; 2 brothers-in-law: Gary Walters and wife Kathryn and Wally Walters and wife Pam; and sister-in-law: Gladys Trask and husband Gary.
