Betty L. Larson

Betty L. Larson, 85, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.

Betty was born June 18, 1923 the daughter of Oscar and Ethel Madson in Slifer, Iowa. On November 16, 1940 Betty was united in marriage to Gaylord Garvin “GG” Larson in Blue Earth, MN. To this union four children were born. Betty was later employed at Globe Union from which she retired.

Betty loved listening to live music especially the blues. She and GG became greatly involved in searching for and acquiring antiques. The couple attended the state Democratic Convention for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Fort Dodge.

Those thankful for having shared in Bettys life include her children: Michael (Pam) Larson of Nashville, TN, Gary (Claudette) Larson of Templeton, IA, Mark (fiancé Susy Williams) Larson of Rushford, MN, Debbie (Rafe) Swift of Warren, CT, one sister; Donna (Keith) Abblet, two brothers: Gordon Madson, Dewy (Donna) Madson, one sister-in-law: Geneva Madson, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Larson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister: Blanche Hendricks, one brother: Chuck Madson and a grandson.
