Alvin C. Flath
Alvin Charles Flath, 72, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, January 9, 2006 at the Greanleaf Healthcare Center in Fort Dodge.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2005 at the Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Corey Miller officiating. Visitation will be held today from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery on Friday, January 13, 2005 at 10:30 a.m.
Alvin was born November 20, 1933 the son of Charles and Clara (Bartz) Flath in New Hampton, Iowa. On October 3, 1959 he was united in marriage to Betty Homewood in Fort Dodge.
Mr. Flath spent his school days in the New Hampton school district through the 8th grade and would later enter the United States Army where he served his country honorably from 1953 until 1955. He worked for numerous years at the Federal Building in Fort Dodge as a custodian and also enjoyed his work at Friendship Haven and Cenex. In his free time he enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and playing handheld electronic games. He was known as a shy and quiet man with a big heart.
Those thankful for having shared in Alvins life include his two sons Craig (Lois) Flath of Carroll, Iowa and Brian (Debby Watnem) Flath of Humboldt; two sisters Madonna Wood of Sumner, Iowa and Arlene (Paul) Moser of Badger, Iowa. He is also survived by one grandson, Christopher Watnem.
Alvin was preceded in death by his wife, parents and an infant brother; Kevin Flath.
Bruce-Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
