Ada Irene Steburg

Ada Irene Steburg, 86, of Fort Dodge, died Friday, July 9, 2004 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the St. John Lutheran Church, rural Vincent, with the Rev. William Van Nostrand officiating. Interment will follow in the North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at the Bruce~Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

Ada was born December 3, 1917 the daughter of Leon and Florence (Chambers) Merrill in rural Webster Co. On September 19, 1936 Ada was united in marriage to John Steburg in Fort Dodge. To this union four children were born.

Ada was a family oriented lady who very much enjoyed all the time she spent with them. She loved to do embroidery work, crocheting and sewing in her spare time. She will be truly missed.

Those thankful for having shared in Ada’s life include her children, John (Betsy) Steburg of Promp, NV, Paul (Meredee) Steburg of Fort Dodge, Beverly (Gordon) Demery of Duncombe, and Carol (Mike) Gehlhausen of Fort Dodge, three sisters; Emma Kick, June (Gordon) Wilson, and Louise (Bud) Hammond and one brother Tom (Lee) Merrill, 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Steburg was preceded in death by her parents, husband John in December of 2003, one brother John Merrill, one sister, Flora Mae Merrill, and one grandson Matthew Steburg.
